1.  The foundation.  A foundation must be built for the building permit and to build your Garden Suite.  You can build your own foundation or use our referral service for a foundation expert in your area.
2.  Siding.  The outside of our Garden suite must be  protected with an exterior finish like siding.  We recommend LP® Smart Side Siding available at most hardware stores.
3.  Roofing material.  We recommend our metal roofing option but you can use shingles.
4.  Interior finishes.   Our Garden suites come with a floor but it is recommended that you use laminate flooring on top of the panels.  We recommend 3/4”  LP® ProStruct® Shed Flooring available at most hardware stores.

Recycled plastic bottles are used in the manufacturing process which is great for the environment.
The plastic bottles are thoroughly cleaned and then turned into plastic pellets which are then used to form a mold.  The outer layer is fiberglass and the plas is surrounded by foam insulation.  The interior is treated with a fire-resistance barrier.

Why are plastic bottles used?
A typical plastic bottle, made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), can take around 450 years to decompose in a landfill.

In Canada, an estimated 3.3 million tonnes of plastic waste are produced annually, with only about 9% recycled, meaning a significant portion, including plastic bottles, ends up in landfills or the environment.

Garden suites, commonly found in urban areas such as Toronto but are available across Canada. ."Garden suites" or Laneway homes  are detached residential structures situated in the backyard of a main house. These compact living spaces are gaining significant popularity in Ontario due to their versatility and potential to generate additional income for homeowners. Garden suites in Ontario serve various purposes, such as guest houses, rental properties, or even home offices. Despite their smaller size, these suites are fully equipped with essential amenities, including a kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area, offering a comfortable and private living arrangement. This self-contained nature makes them an appealing investment for homeowners, contributing to the growing demand and prominence of garden suites in the housing market.
Garden suites in Ontario play a vital role in urban planning and housing policy. They address the pressing challenges of housing affordability and availability, particularly in dense urban areas.  The shortage of affordable housing is evident throughout Canada which is why each and every province and a few territories have loan and grant programs to help homeowners create Garden Suites on their real property.

The demand for Garden Suites  has been on a steady rise, driven by the ongoing housing affordability crisis and the desire for additional income sources. This trend is reflected in the data from real estate platforms, such as the Toronto Real Estate Board, which reports a significant increase in inquiries for properties with garden suites.

Renting out a garden suite in Toronto can generate potential rental income between $1,200 to $2,000 per month. This makes the addition of a garden suite a financially rewarding decision for homeowners in the long run.

Garden suites represent a lucrative investment opportunity for several reasons. First and foremost, they provide an additional source of rental income. Given the high demand for affordable housing options, garden suites can command substantial rental rates, contributing to a steady cash flow for property owners. Furthermore, creating a garden suite can significantly increase the overall value of the property. This can be highly beneficial for investors looking to sell their property in the future.

Garden suites also offer tax advantages. The cost of building a garden suite can be considered a capital expense, which is tax-deductible in Ontario. Additionally, any maintenance or operational costs incurred for the garden suite can also be written off against rental income.

Adding a garden suite can significantly enhance your property's market value. In the short term, homeowners often see a 20–30% increase in property worth, which translates to $240,000–$360,000 for a 1 million dollar property.

Now, homeowners in Canada can access both loans and grants to help fund garden suite projects through programs like the Canada Secondary Suite Loan Program, which provides low-interest loans up to $80000 at 2%, and potentially through municipal programs offering grants like the Secondary Suite grant incentive Program Up to $40,000 in forgivable loans to cover 50% of the construction costs for new secondary suites

A "Garden Suite" also known as "Accessory Dwelling Units",  "backyard homes", , "laneway suites", "granny flats", "in-law suites", and "tiny homes" are the future of affordable housing.
